Renovation of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a elderly care / assisted living facility.
scope of this project includes replacing three large heat pumps serving the Kitchen and Laundry with air-cooled units. This will free up the needed capacity within the remaining geothermal loop. The loop's alcohol-based condenser water will be drained and refilled with a non-toxic antifreeze. A second natural gas boiler will be installed in the courtyard for redundancy and additional heating capacity as needed. In addition, a computer room AC unit will be installed to provide dedicated cooling to the building's server/equipment room.
