All inquiries may be directed to Avery Lai, Assistant Engineer The City of Redwood City is seeking statements of qualifications and proposals for professional services from qualified geotechnical firms (Consultants) to provide on-call, as needed potholing services and construction support for City of Redwood City's various utility infrastructure and urban facilities projects on as needed basis for the City of Redwood City's Capital Improvements Projects. The City of Redwood City (City) is seeking statements of qualifications and proposals for professional services from qualified geotechnical firms (Consultants) to provide on-call, as needed potholing services and construction support for City of Redwood City's various utility infrastructure and urban facilities projects on as needed basis for the City of Redwood City's Capital Improvements Projects. The City performs various utility infrastructure projects such as underground utilities improvements (e.g. sewer, water, recycled water, and storm) and urban facilities improvements (e.g. streets, parks, pavement management, streetscapes, transportation, buildings and bridges) to ensure the continued reliability of the City's infrastructure and urban facilities system. Each year, staff from Community Development Department-Engineering and Transportation Division and Public Works Services Department identifies areas that requires excessive maintenance or experienced repeated service disruptions and target those areas for improvement. The improvement work normally consists of trench excavation; removal and replacement of existing aging underground utilities and dilapidated facilities; backfilling and compaction; pavement restoration and other related construction activities that require potholing location sevices to ensure the safety and accuracy of the City's utility infrastructure and urban facilities system. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
