Provide an exploratory borehole and construct an irrigation well. Liquidated Damages: $500/day. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Estimated Cost Range: $275,000 - $375,000 Question Deadline 04/25/2023 at 5:00 PM PT Special Licenses/Qualifications: Contractor shall be a licensed well driller in the State of California and shall have experience in the construction of wells of similar design for a period of not less than 5 years Completion of Work: Subject to change by Owner, Work is scheduled to begin on "July 10, 2023" and shall be fully complete by "August 8, 2023 The specifications presented herein are intended to provide the information necessary for all parties concerned with the work to know the nature and amount of equipment, materials, and the work required to successfully: 1.) complete one (1) exploratory borehole to a planned depth of 620 feet with zone testing, and 2.) to successfully construct one (1) 16-inch diameter irrigation well, for the University of Nevada Reno's Jay Dow Experiment Station in Lassen County, CA. The well shall be constructed in accordance with the State of California Regulations for Water Well and Related Drilling (2 CCR 402-2). The University of Nevada Reno is the OWNER. McGinley & Associates, 6995 Sierra Center Pkwy, Reno, NV shall provide hydrogeologic services and oversight for the test hole and well drilling as Project GEOLOGIST. The work shall be carried out in accordance with the following specifications and any amendments or additions that may be attached by the OWNER. The DRILLING CONTRACTOR shall familiarize themself with the conditions at the proposed drilling site prior to bidding. The well is being drilled to supply the Jay Dow Experiment Station with irrigation water to supply one center pivot and one linear irrigation system, with anticipated pumping rate of 2300 gpm. An initial test hole will be drilled to approximately 600 ft in depth as a first phase of work, and open borehole isolated zone testing will be conducted. After a review of test drilling data, a second phase of irrigation well drilling will be completed, subject to finding acceptable results in phase exploration drilling. Drilling of the exploratory borehole shall be accomplished using conventional mud rotary drilling methods. Drilling of the irrigation well shall be accomplished using flooded reverse circulation rotary drilling methods. The irrigation well casing is specified to be 16-inch O.D with an anticipated well depth of 610 feet. The well will be completed with 16-inch low carbon steel (LCS) blank casing and LCS louvered screen. Geologic conditions anticipated are unconsolidated to semi-consolidated sediments, ranging from clay to coarse sand and gravel. The depth to groundwater at the site is estimated to be approximately 25 feet below land surface.
