Sandburg North Radio Tower Demolition -In general, the work consists of: Remove and scrap the 1992 vintage steel angle truss radio tower that is fixed to the top of the Sandburg Hall - North Tower building. The approximately 260 foot tower sits on top of the approximately 265 ft tall building. Tower removal work includes de-energizing power to the deactivated antenna systems and aviation lighting on the tower as well as removal of the associated conduit and electrical wiring to their source distribution panels. Remove and dispose of recently deactivated dish, pizza box and mast antennas that are installed on the tower. The tower is secured to a large mass of concrete that will remain in place, all penetrations where the tower is connected to the building will be sealed.
