**As of June 21, 2023, project was awarded to Earthwerks, and the awarded amount is $5,978,066.80.** The Village of Hanover Park, Illinois will receive Sealed Bids for a Public Works Construction contract that includes two phases. Phase 1, in Hanover Park, will restore and stabilize the eroded streambanks of approximately 1,500 linear feet of stream channel. A general description of the work involved is streambank excavation and re-shaping, including removal of a box culvert and re-meandering to create new channel and forebay areas. The stabilization measures to be installed include vegetated rock toe, in-stream rock substrate areas, stream barbs, and pre-cast modular retaining walls. The work will also involve clearing and tree removal, adjusting storm sewer outfalls, turf restoration, planting native vegetation, and performing maintenance and monitoring during establishment. An instream work plan will be required that addresses dewatering operations and stream diversion in order to construct "in the dry". Phase 2, in Schaumburg, includes approximately 3,000 feet of stream corridor improvements beginning just east of Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg and continuing west into Hanover Park. The work consists of: realignment of portions of the channel to create a sinuous reach; regrading of banks; installation of vegetated stone toe; installation of two riffle structures; removal of an existing sheetpile wall; boring and jacking watermain under the stream; cured in place pipe (CIPP) lining of sanitary sewer under the stream; grading to create floodplain storage; and planting and seeding restoration.
