Sewer and Water Construction, Sanitary Sewer (Gravity), Sawcutting/Sidewalk/Pavement, Pavement Resurface and Rehabilitation, Traffic Control Devices (Signals, Signing, etc.), Televising Sewers The project consists of providing all labor and material for the construction of a sanitary sewer pipeline. Major work items include construction of approximately 1150 LF 8-inch sanitary sewer, sanitary sewer laterals, asphalt roadway restoration, and associated work. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and per the Contract Documents prepared by CBS Squared Inc. identified as "Highway 63 Sanitary Sewer Replacement". No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The City of Cumberland reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 60 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. Bidders must submit a Bidders Proof of Responsibility in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders will be required to provide performance and payment bonds of 100 percent of bid amount. This Contract is expected to be funded in part with funds provided by the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Service (RUS). Information on applicable federal requirements is contained in the Project Manual. Use of American Iron & Steel: Projects financed in whole or in part by the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program are required to use American iron and steel. Bid proposals may be denied if the requirements of this Section are not met. Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis, Minor Components, Pig iron and direct reduced iron, and project specific waivers: TBD.
