Site work and paving for a road / highway in Richfield, Minnesota. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
Richfield was selected to receive a 20 ft. concrete precast noise barrier that would be constructed from approximately Xerxes Avenue to Russell Avenue as part of the Minnesota Department of Transportations Standalone Noise Barrier Program. MnDOT and Richfield are in agreement that it is important for the location of this noise wall to not preclude any future expansion options on Hwy 62. Noise wall location will be further refined during project scoping and preliminary design. The total cost of the project is estimated at $4.5M of which Richfield's share is 10%. This is a standalone noise barrier. This project is included in the city’s 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of October 3, 2024, per owner, this is a MnDOT project, they are planning to start construction in Spring 2025. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
