The Project consists of the full removal and replacement of the wet well structure; raising the wet well lid above the 100-year floodplain elevation; replacement of the mechanical and electrical equipment, piping, and the force main; and installation of a new pre-fabricated electrical enclosure, backup generator and fuel tank. The Project also consists of the installation of groundwater dewatering wells to lower the groundwater elevation and eliminate contaminated groundwater seepage from the Bonneville Avenue underpass, and site design enhancement for ease of access. These groundwater dewatering wells are to be installed and put into service prior to any demolition or excavation work at the Project site. Additional improvements include access to the storm drainage channel adjacent to the pump station site, abandonment of the existing piezometers and pumping well, and provisions for remote monitoring of the pump station operations.
