Site work for a water / sewer project in Tomslake, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The existing boat launch ramp at Swan Lake Provincial Park consists of 10 precast concrete panels with articulated concrete mats on the sides and one on the end. The boat launch is not currently able to be used due to a lack of water depth and a large scour hole that has developed at the end of the last concrete panel. To complete the ramp extension, the 10 existing concrete panels will be left in place, one articulated concrete mat will be removed from the end, and one new precast concrete panel will be added followed by a Flexamat panel. Gravel will be used to fill in the scour hole prior to the placement of the new panels. Rip rap will be placed around the new precast concrete panel and a portion of the Flexamat. The upgraded boat launch will extend an additional 8.6 m past the existing panels and 11 m below the observed water mark based on the October 31, 2021 water level. No grout or raw concrete products will be used during construction. Class 100 rip rap will be placed around the sides of the precast concrete panel and a portion of the Flexamat, maintaining the width of the existing boat launch.
