Renovation of a municipal facility in Anaheim, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
UPDATE : This project will replace and automate the chillers and cooling towers in the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) that are over 40 years old and have outlived their useful lives. The project will also add variable speed drives and automation to chiller plants to improve collection of performance data and flexibility in managing power used. The cost of further maintaining the chillers and cooling towers is no longer economical due to their age and obsolescence. Replacing them with equipment that is adaptive to new technology and energy efficiency will deliver savings on utility costs. The replacement of old ozone depleting refrigerant systems to new green technologies also positions the ACC in line with the global effort to reduce global warming supporting our facility goals for LEED compliance. Cooling tower A was installed in 1968 and requires continuous costly repairs due to it being made of wood. The system is also a high-volume consumer of utilities. The upgrade would increase performance and efficiency.
