Project Description: The objective of this project is for the Contractor to provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to replace surgical lights in the Labor and Delivery Operating Rooms at the Naval Medical Center, also known as Balboa Hospital, in San Diego, CA, in accordance with all Federal, State, and Installation codes and laws, to include preparation of a design as discussed below. The contractor is required to assemble and install operating room lights in the labor and delivery operation rooms as specified on the schedule. There are a total of four labor and delivery operating rooms. The work to be conducted shall be done in two phases to include two room simultaneously, leaving two rooms open for emergency surgery. The commencement of the second phase shall not start until the first phase is 100% complete to include punch list items, therefore, leaving phase one open for emergency surgery at the start of phase two. The installation will include Class V infection control precautions, site inspection, assembly, installation, removal and disposable of old equipment, anchoring and testing of all lights upon completion. Surgical lights will be with no-break battery backup (UPS) per UFC 4- 510-01c2 Section 11-6.2 and shall comply with IEC 60601-2-41 and ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1. The contract shall refer to UFGS 26 55 80 for specification guidance. Installation of UPS shall be completed in phase one. Unless otherwise accepted, replacement of the necessary parts will be accomplished during the performance of the installation and the installer will pay current prices then in effect for such replacement for all parts. The scope of work performed under these specifications includes the furnishing of all labor, infection control barriers, hospital work permits, fire watch (as required), and parts to perform all necessary operations listed, to assure continued operating at their designed efficiency and capacity.
