Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Charleston, South Carolina. Working plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
Must apply for construction permit o Demo and dispose of 6 existing swing structures. Ensure construction area is closed off from the public. o Rebuild 6 swing structures per detail with pressure treated lumber with chamfered edges including beams for swing connection (8"x8" southern pine no. 2 for the posts, double 3"x12" and 2"x4" southern pine no. 2 and for the beams) o Decorative metal straps, connectors, and wrought iron frame to be attached to lumber per detail. Existing metal to be re-used, after cleaned and repainted black o Reattach existing swing hinges to lumber. Spacing between hinges to match existing o Attach new swing structures securely within the existing precast bases per detail with metal post skirt and steel bracket. o Wood molding to be installed around post bases over steel bracket (not included in detail) o Paint lumber to match existing color o Swings will be provided and attached by City of Charleston Questions must be received in writing no later than 1:00 pm on November 16, 2023, to Vera M. White at whitev@charleston-sc.gov. Charleston City Council has adopted a policy setting 20% MWBE participation as the goal for this project
