Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Hammond, Indiana. Completed plans call for the construction of a residential development; for site work for a residential development; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This work shall include, but is not limited to, the construction of 37-lot, single family residential subdivision. Work includes demolition of above ground features and underground utilities. Storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main along with connection to existing for each. Site grading, asphalt streets with curb and gutter. Sidewalk and landscape berm. Erosion control measures. in the City of Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. This work shall be completed by November 15, 2023. Bid documents will be available. Electronic contract documents can be obtained online from Abonmarche website, found at http://www.abonmarche.com/bids. There is no fee for registration on the plan holder's list and download of electronic bidding documents. Hard copies are available from ABONMARCHE CONSULTANT'S, INC., 17 N. Washington Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383. 219- 850-4624. The fee for obtaining a hard copy documents is Fifty Dollars. An additional Ten Dollars will be charged for plans requiring shipping. General Specifications, description and conditions upon which the bid proposal is to be based are on file for examination at the office of the Engineer, Abonmarche Consultants, Inc. All Bidders must be properly licensed in the City of Hammond at the time bids are received. Contractors may contact the Hammond Building Inspections Department to inquire on General Contractor and Sub- contractors licensing and requirements, at 219.853.6316 or the Hammond website, www.gohammond.com Inspections Department for applications. Please note that the Hammond Contracting Board only meets once per month, at the first Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the Inspection Department Conference Room. The deadline for submitting an application and required information for a Hammond License is one week prior to the meeting. For this bid, the next deadline to submit an application is April 24, 2023 and then corresponding meeting date is May 1, 2023. All Bidders must comply with Hammond Ordinance No. 9519 related to Responsible Bidding Practices that requires all Bidders to become prequalified by the City of Hammond Building Commissioner prior to submitting a Bid for Public Works for the City of Hammond. A copy of the ordinance is contained in the Contract Documents, Section 00 75 55. Contact the Hammond Building Department for more details at (219) 853-6317 No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Hammond Redevelopment Commission reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days, and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Hammond Redevelopment Commission further reserves the right to waive informalities and toward the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Hammond Redevelopment Commission or to reject all bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the Hammond Board of Public Works and Safety or an acceptable Bid Bond in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract price will be required. Standard Indiana Form 96 (Revised 2013) which includes non-collusion affidavit will be required. Contractors submitting a bid for City construction projects must subscribe to the Indiana Plan and a joint apprenticeship and training program for that project if their bid is accepted and provide proof of same before any payments are made. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin and each bidder must conform with the anti- discrimination provisions of IC 5-16-6. An Affirmative Action Statement must be submitted at time of bid.
