Mt. Sterling Water and Sewer (MSWS) is accepting bids for labor, equipment, gravel, concrete and blacktop related to a water line replacement project proposed for South Queen Street Phase II Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Please note materials for this project will be supplied by the owner. This project consists of an estimated 950 feet of 8" class 51 ductile iron pipe, reconnection of service lines, along with related accessories. The best apparent bid is subject to approval by the Mt. Sterling Board of Commissioners prior to this project being awarded. Please note that MSWS will be flexible,within reason, with regard to the start of this project. Each bid, in order to be considered valid, must be accompanied by a bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of no less than 5 percent of the base bid. The bidder awarded the contract shall supply a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, both no less than the total value of the bid submitted. In addition, the successful bidder will be required to provide proof of both liability and worker's compensation insurance, in addition to naming Mt. Sterling Water and Sewer and the City of Mt. Sterling as an additional insured. This contract shall be completed within 60 days of a Notice to Proceed being issued. Liquidated damages in the amount of $250.00/day will be assessed should this project extend beyond that date. Mt. Sterling reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted.
