Contractor’s License: B and or C-33 Painting and Decorating classification required. Any bidder not so specifically licensed at the time of the bid opening will be rejected as nonresponsive. Bids shall be opened and publicly read aloud. It is each bidder’s sole responsibility to ensure its bid is timely delivered and received at the location designated as specified above. Any bid received at the designated location after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids shall be returned to the bidder unopened. The lowest bid shall be the lowest bid price on the Total Base Bid without consideration of the prices on the additive or deductive items. (Base bid) + ($50,000 allowance) =Total Base Bid Scope of work shall include, but is not limited to the following: furnish all labor and materials, equipment, services, testing, permits, superintendence, temporary facilities, waste transport and disposal necessary to perform the work required for Exterior Paint at Maple Elementary School. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications, the drawings and notations, EPA, SCAQMD, OSHA, NIOSH, State of California regulations, and all other applicable federal, state, and local government regulations. Time is of the essence. No bidder may withdraw any bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date fixed for the opening of bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of cash, a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, payable to the District. All work shall be completed within sixty (60) days the schedule specified in the bid documents. In the event of failure to enter into said contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. The Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with the requirements set forth in Division 2, Part 7, Chapter 1 of the Labor Code. The California Department of Industrial Relations has determined the general prevailing rates of per diem wages for the locality in which the work is to be performed for the Project. Copies of these wage rate determinations, entitled Prevailing Wage Scale, are available at the following website: www.dir.ca.gov. It shall be mandatory upon the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor listed, to pay not less than the said specified rates to all workers employed by them for the Project. The District mandates that no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public work on a public works project (awarded on or after April 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5. This project is subject to certified payroll compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process.
