In general, the work to be performed under this contract is for the full depth reconstruction of approximately 3,300 feet of Pleasant Valley Road and replacement of the existing bridge over the Podunk River. This includes installation of new drainage pipe, catch basins, manholes, and hydrodynamic separator; excavation and removal of the existing pavement and base material down to the subgrade as shown on the plan; installation of new processed aggregate base material, two lifts of new HMA pavement, bituminous curb, pavement markings, and signs; repaving driveway aprons; cutting, filling, and grading road side slopes; installing topsoil and grass seed on all disturbed roadside areas; and installing concrete sidewalks and ramps. The bridge replacement includes demolition and removal of the existing bridge; replacement with a new bridge including new abutments, steel piles, concrete bridge beams, approach walls, parapet walls, relocated water and gas mains under the new bridge The Town of South Windsor, Connecticut reserves the right to reject any or all bids submitted in response to this Invitation to Bid.
