The purpose of the White Barn Structural Stabilization Project is to provide construction services for the structural stabilization and repairs to Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District's White Barn located in La Honda Creek Open Space Preserve. The scope of work shall include replacing the roof, repairing damaged siding, stabilizing damaged framing, installing concrete slab-on-grade and foundations, salvaging historic building materials, installing an interpretive window, painting, and installing bat boxes as further detailed and described herein as the Contract Documents. It is approximately 1.4 miles south of the intersection of Bear Gulch Road and Skyline Boulevard/State Route 35. Skyline Boulevard is a paved 2-lane roadway and Bear Gulch Road is a paved one-lane roadway that is surrounded by dense redwood forest. The White Barn must be accessed from District gate LH01 and parking is available in an adjacent small parking area. Although there is a service vehicle road connecting the parking area to the White Barn, open space visitors must walk to the White Barn.
