This Request for Quotations (the "RFQ") is an invitation by The Corporation of the City of Kitchener ("the City") to prospective Contractors to submit non-binding quotations for Spot Improvement Program - Roads and Trails, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the "Deliverables"). The City is looking to partner with a qualified Contractor to perform the scope of work which includes, the removal of stone dust granular and replacing with 3 metre wide asphalt on trails. Enhancing trail entrances with proper access which include concrete aprons, tactile warning plates. Removal of concrete walkways and upgrading with 3 metre wide asphalt trails. This work also included new concrete ramps to improve trails access for maintenance vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. Construction of a new raised pedestrian crossing at Glasgow St and the Iron Horse Trail. This work includes removal of existing asphalt in the roadway and removal of concrete at trail entrances. The pedestrian crossing is to be built with asphalt and to a specific standard. Work also includes installation of new catch basin. Vision Zero (traffic calming) work includes speed cushion concrete medians, concrete pedestrian islands, road narrowing and improvements to intersections. Construction of new raised pedestrian crossings in various locations and other concrete curb work.
