As of January 10, 2024, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Rehabilitation of the existing bridge, which consists of localized steel repairs, full blast cleaning and painting of the superstructure below the splash zone, and localized paint removal and overcoating above the splash zone. Additional site work includes regrading the shoulder break areas in each quadrant to improve drainage, removal and reinstallation of the existing guiderail to perform this work, and filling in erosion gullies on the begin abutment with stone. The localized steel repairs include fatigue prone weld removal, gusset plate strengthening with additional bolted plates, and floor beam strengthening with additional bolted flange cover plates. The existing bridge will remain open during construction with alternating one-way traffic controlled by a temporary signal system.
