This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Oneonta, New York. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

3. Agreement coverage is from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. 1. Fertilization a. The field is to be fertilized (4) four times per year, twice in the spring and twice in the fall. Fertilizations will include nitrogen at 0.75 to 1 pound per thousand square feet, and other nutrients as needed based on soil test results. A minimum of (4) four pounds of nitrogen per thousand square feet throughout the eight-month growing season is to be applied. No less than 50% of the total nitrogen applied is to be from slow release or controlled release sources. At least one application is to be from organic sources. No phosphorous is to be applied unless done in conjunction with seeding. b. Micronutrient applications will be made once per year if required based on soil tests. Specific nutrient applications may be required so as not to cause over applications of other materials that may otherwise cause nutrient toxicity. c. If gypsum, lime, or magnesium is required based on soil test results, they are to be applied once per season. 2. Weed, Insect and Disease Control No pest control products should be applied to the field in accordance with the "Safe Child Playing Fields Act of 2010". In the event an emergency application is required, approval by the school board will be required. All other regulations as required by NYSDEC must be followed. 3. Soil Testing Soil samples are to be collected in the spring, before any applications are made, and again in October, before the last fertilization. Samples will be collected using a sampling tube. No grass or thatch is to be included in the samples. Ten to twenty samples of soil will be taken at random throughout the field, at a two-inch depth. A total of one cup of soil is to be collected. Samples are to be collected in a plastic bag and sent to a qualified turf laboratory for analysis. Copies of soil test results are to be sent to the School Business Manager and Director of Facilities. 4. Turf Reconditioning All turf areas will be reconditioned (3) three times a year. The turf is to be aerated using solid or hollow tines, based on aeration history and field conditions. No drum type aerator is to be used. After the aeration, the field is to be top dressed using sand tested and approved for athletic fields. No less than 45 cubic yards of sand is to be applied evenly over the turf surfaces. All sand must be spread with a broom (not dragged with a metal mat) after application. The field will then be overseeded using a mixture of 50% Kentucky bluegrass and 50% Perennial ryegrass. Seed is to be applied using a dimple type seeding process with random pattern insuring adequate seed to soil contact. The seed shall be planted to a 1/4 inch depth.
