Demolition for a municipal facility in Friendswood, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.

The City of Friendswood (the "City") invites the submission of bids from experienced and qualified demolition contractors to provide demolition and removal services for two buildings containing four townhomes each and adjacent property. Such demolition and removal services include, but are not limited to: site demolition, excavation and fill, erosion and sedimentation control, capping utilities, and removal services. The Contractor will be required to perform demolition services and removal of the structures, any outbuildings, basements, foundations, and site improvements, including but not limited to: retaining walls, paving, foundation, landscaping, concrete pads, sidewalk and driveways, fencing, mailboxes, signs, poles, porches, trash, waste, rubbish, rocks, debris, etc. on the following properties: Building 4 141, 142, 143, & 144 Moss Point Drive Friendswood, TX 77546, Building 5 151, 152, 153, & 154 Moss Point Drive Friendswood, TX 77546 . This project is federally funded by a Community Development Block Grant. Attention is called to the fact that the successful bidder must comply with: o Paying not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor H.U.D. and contained in the contract documents. o Ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or national origin. o Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, the regulations set forth in 24 CFR Part 135, and all applicable rules and orders. The City of Friendswood (the "City") reserves the right to reject any or all bid and to waive any informality in the bids received. The contract, if any, will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, The City pays for goods and services according to the provisions of Chapter 2251 of the Government Code. This project is federally funded by a Community Development Block Grant. A bid guarantee in the form of a bidder's bond, certified check or a cashier's check made out to "City of Friendswood" in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the greatest amount bid must accompany each submission. BIDS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE ACCOMPANYING BID GUARANTEE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE BIDDER. For contracts in excess of $25,000, payment, performance, and maintenance bonds along with a bid guarantee are required by the City. All questions must be submitted to jspears@friendswood.com, no later than 9:00 A.M., MAY 11, 2023. The work will be completed within thirty (30) calendar days Demolition and Removal Services. Contractorshall provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision to complete the work including, but not necessarily limited to the following: a. Provide site utility investigation drawings to the City prior to commencing of work. b. Provide layout as required for demolition operations. c. Provide all special engineering, shoring, scaffolding and/or equipment required for demolition operations. d. Protect all work which to remain. e. Remove existing structures and slab to three (3) feet below grade. f. Prior to structure demolition the contractor shall demolish, remove, salvage and make safe all electrical wiring. g. Contractor is required to have a competent foreman on site every day and provide written documentation of review of safety for the days of operation. h. Provide adequate manpower and/or overtime to meet construction schedule. i. Contractor to provide dumpster for their scope of work and haul off all demolished materials. j. Provide multiple mobilizations as required to complete scope of work as directed. k. Protect all trees during demolition. l. Obtain all permits as required. m. Grade the site to drain, and fill using clean filler compacted and topped with four (4) inches of clean topsoil. n. Cover site in hydromulch. o. Provide any silt fence required to prevent erosion off site. p. Cap all plumbing and sewer. q. Providing fencing 100% around site during demolition
