Renovation of an educational facility in Lowell, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

A. The scope of the work under this Section, without limiting the generality thereof, includes all materials, labor, equipment, services and transportation, unless otherwise specified, necessary to complete all systems of electrical wiring and equipment required by the Drawings and/or specified herein. It is the intent of this Section of these Specifications and accompanying Electrical Drawings to cause these Systems to be furnished complete in every respect. The Electrical Subcontractor shall furnish all wiring, equipment, staging, access panels, and labor needed and usually furnished in connection with such work, whether specifically mentioned of not. B. Work Included: Provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work of this Section, including the upgrade the rooftop exhaust fan and install/replace a section of duct work in the lab larger than the existing duct work for increased capacity and add new drops with blast gates in locations shown on the drawing M-3, including but not limited to the following: 1. Interior normal power secondary distribution systems including panelboards, transformer, raceways, cables, wiring, junction and pull boxes, wireways, and all other components required for complete electrical distribution system. 2. Grounding and bonding of all electrical systems and equipment. 3. Power wiring to HVAC equipment. 4. Relocating existing electrical systems. 5. Wiring devices (switches and receptacles) complete with associated wall plates. 6. Make safe, disconnect, remove and dispose of all electrical items to be abandoned 7. All penetrations, coring, cutting, and channeling required for the installation of all electrical systems. 8. Hoisting Equipment: The Electrical Work subcontractor shall furnish, install and maintain in safe and adequate condition all mechanical hoisting equipment, operating personnel and rigging that is necessary for the proper execution of the Work of this Section. 9. Staging, Planking and Scaffolding: The Electrical Work subcontractor shall furnish, install and maintain in safe and adequate condition, all staging, planking and scaffolding that is necessary for the proper execution of the Work in this Section. 10. Testing and commissioning of all electrical systems. 11. All electrical work associated with phasing. 12. Demolition - Disconnect, removed, and properly dispose of all existing electrical equipment, conduit, wiring scheduled to be demolished. 13. All required firestopping or electrical equipment ant conduit installed or penetrating through all fire rated assemblies, floors, walls, ceilings, and partitions. 14. All smoke stopping and acoustical sealing. 15. Coordination between electrical and other trades. 16. Coordination drawings and record drawings and similar requirements. 17. Temporary light and power 18. The Electrical Subcontractor shall be responsible for filing all documents, securing all permits, payment of all fees, and securing of all inspections and approvals necessary for the electrical work. The Electrical Contractor shall be responsible for filing all documents, payment of all fees, and securing of all inspections and approvals necessary for the electrical work. All permitting fees required for the electrical work shall be included in the electrical contractor's bid. The Electrical Sub-Contractor shall not be entitled to additional compensation after the submittal of their bid price should they fail, for any reason, to obtain the total back charge costs to be incurred municipal agencies.
