The Town of Bolton, Vermont, is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms for engineering services to stabilize of areas of erosion and slope failure, including the areas above and below the slope failure, along Gleason Brook in Bolton in the vicinity of Boulder Wood Lane, a private road. The property containing most of the slope failure was a successful FEMA buyout in 2022. The Town of Bolton, Vermont reserves the right to reject any and all bids wholly or in part, to waive any informalities or irregularities therein, to accept any bid even though it may not be the lowest bid, to call for rebids, to negotiate with any bidder, and to make an award which in its sole and absolute judgment will best serve the town's interests. During the evaluation process, the Town reserves the right, where it may serve in the Town's best interest, to request additional information or clarification from bidders, and the right to investigate the financial responsibility of any bidder to determine its ability to assure service. The Town of Bolton, Vermont, is requesting proposals from qualified engineering firms for engineering services for the design, permitting, bid, construction costs and construction oversight for the repair and stabilization necessary due to areas of erosion and slope failure along Gleason Brook, near Boulder Wood Lane, a private road, caused by multiple past storm events. It is expected that the project will require permits from the Agency of Natural Resources and/or the Army Corps of Engineers to complete the work. The engineering firm will be selected based on two criteria: the technical qualifications and price. Cost will not be the primary factor in selection.
