The work to be done generally consists of full width asphalt pavement grinding, HMA paving, accessible curb ramps, sidewalk, curb and gutter, green bike lane striping, and traffic striping and markings at, and near, the intersection of Marinwood Avenue and Miller Creek Road. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $320,000. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. To bid on this Project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's and all subcontractors' registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via Bid Express no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. Bidder must visit the work site before submitting a bid. Bidder shall thoroughly investigate the conditions which will be encountered in the project including, but not limited to, existing underground and overhead utilities, steep, rocky terrain, road width, space needed to flag traffic, staging and site access challenges. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990. This is a public works contract subject to the provisions of Part 7 of Division 2 of the California Labor Code (Sections 1720 et seq.). In accordance with Labor Code Section 1771, Contractor and all subcontractors shall pay not less than current prevailing wage rates as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to all workers employed on this project. Pursuant to Section 1773 of the California Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates for Marin County where the work is to be done have been determined by DIR. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available at the Department of Public Works.
