Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Angola, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of Aug 29, 2023 the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established . This project includes the installation of approximately 2,300LF of a new asphalt trail along the east side of Lake Shore Road from Dawn Avenue to Point Breeze Drive. The installation of ADA compliant detectable working units and white epoxy pavement crosswalk striping will be utilized and roadway crossings. Installation of new 5' wide concrete sidewalks and curb ramps. This work also includes modifications and improvements to the existing drainage system, along with a new drainage ditch in between the new path and the existing road shoulder with a 12-inch underdrain pipe Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. This project includes the installation of approximately 2,300LF of a 10'-0" wide asphalt pedestrian path along the east side of Lake Shore Road, from Point Breeze Way to AJ Schmidt Elementary School. The installation of ADA compliant detectable warning units and white epoxy pavement crosswalk striping will be utilized to complete roadway crossings. This work also includes modifications and improvements to the existing drainage system, along with a new drainage ditch in between the new path and the existing road shoulder with underdrain pipe. There will also be ADA compliant sidewalk and crosswalk installed near the intersection of Point Breeze Drive and Lakeshore Road Requests for Information (RFI) will only be accepted in written form. RFI's will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. local time on June 21, 2023, at the Office of the Engineer to the attention of Jason Havens via post or email (JHavens@CPLteam.com). 1. The Contractor shall provide work zone traffic control (WZTC) first, and install allsuitable signs, barricades, and other protective devices to protect the general public, including construction fencing where necessary, A.O.B.E., and shall maintain these WZTC measures throughout the project. 2. The Contractor and his Subcontractors shall ensure that the work area is adequately secured whenever work is unattended in order to protect the public 3. The Contractor shall protect all existing features, utilities, or structures for the duration of the contract. The Contractor shall provide all shoring and bracing necessary to protect existing features. Damage to existing features, utilities, or structures as a result of work under this contract shall be replaced by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Owner. Items temporarily removed, with the Engineer's approval, shall be replaced in-kind upon completion of the project and to the satisfaction of the Owner. 4. The contractor shall include all labor, materials, overhead, equipment, etc. that is required to complete the installation of approximately 2,300LF of a 10'-0" wide asphalt pedestrian path along the eastside of Lake Shore Road, from Dawn Avenue to AJ Schmidt Elementary School. The installation of ADA compliant detectable warning units and white epoxy pavement crosswalk striping. Modifications and improvements to the existing drainage system, along with a new drainage ditch in between the new path and the existing road shoulder with underdrain pipe. Installation of ADA compliant sidewalk and crosswalk near the intersection of Point Breeze Drive and Lakeshore Road. 5. Note should be taken that the locations on the drawings are approximate. The contractor shall familiarize himself with the site conditions present. 6. The contract will be paid for percentage of work complete at the time of the payment application submission. 7. Contractor shall follow all OSHA requirements and any safety requirements of the Town of Evans. 8. The Contractor shall furnish and install all equipment, labor and materials required to complete the work. In accordance with NYSDOT standard specification or special specification of this bid book. 9. The Contractor shall perform all necessary work in preparation of the work as indicated in the contract documents or as directed by the Engineer. The contractor shall include dewatering and any other possible site preparation operations throughout the construction. 10. Coordinate the installation of the work with the Town of Evans Engineer, or his designee. 11. The Contractor's attention is directed to the fact that only Town of Evans or Erie County Water Authority designated personnel may operate existing water valves if that becomes necessary. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Town or Erie County Water Authority for the operation of existing valves. The Contractor shall notify the Town of Evans and the Erie County Water Authority a minimum of 5 working days prior to any work requiring the closure or operation of these valves to allow notification of water service customers of interruption of service. The maximum duration of any interruption of service shall be two (2) hours or less without previous written notification to affected property owners, the Town and the ECWA. 12. Contractor shall coordinate with other utilities as necessary for completion of the work. 13. All costs for the above shall be included in the appropriate contract bid items. 14. This scope of work is intended as a general summary of the contract work and may not be all inclusive. If the contractor assumes additional work is required to complete the project, they should notify the Engineer during the bidding process.
