The new purge well will be constructed utilizing 152 mm (6-inch) nominal diameter pipe size stainless steel screen and steel casing in a 305 mm (12-inch) borehole drilled within unconsolidated sandy soil. The total well depth is anticipated to be 40 metres (m) (131-feet) with a total screen length of approximately 15 m (49-feet). The final well depth will be selected on the basis of Aquifer conditions encountered in the pilot hole. Following construction, the well will be developed, stepped-rate tested for three (3) hours up to the maximum capacity of the well on one (1) day, and constant-rate tested for a continuous twenty-four (24) hour period on a subsequent day; Recovery is to be monitored to 90% of the Static Level. Pumping rates are not to exceed five (5) L/s (66 IGM), unless approved by the Consultant. The general location of the Work is at the Barrie Landfill Site, located at 272 Ferndale Drive North, within the City. Access to the Well Site for equipment and personnel is via the main access road, located on Ferndale Drive. The well is to be installed approximately 20 m to the east of purge well 3, as illustrated in Figure 3 within Appendix E.
