Vilas Hall - Accessibility Renovation / Madison Project work includes conducting a study to determine best approach to providingreliableandsafeelevators and accessibility to Vilas Communications Hall. It is anticipated that elevator controls, cabs, andequipment will be replaced for four passenger elevators (Regulated Objects 504095, 504441, 504612, and513140); a new elevator machine will be installed into a vacant shaft on the northside of thebuilding; theaccessible lift (Regulated Object No. 513140) on the east side of the building will be repairedorreplaced;anew accessible ramp be constructed along the University Avenue frontage; andaccessiblerouteimprovements completed between north and south sections of the building. The storefront anddoorsadjacent to the accessible lift will also be replaced. Construct a newcorridor fromthe northtosouthsectionof the third floor. Prior to replacing the elevator, a modernization survey will be performed by an elevator designprofessional. An elevator design professional will also need to be engaged throughout theproject toevaluate the specifications, determine compliance, and consult on installation issues. The MEP Subcontractor scope of work is identical to the General Prime 6 Contractor scope of work included in these bidding and contract documents. By submitting and 7 signing a bid, all bidders have examined all of the Bidding Documents listed in the Table of 8 Contents of the project specifications. The successful bidders will be required to do all work 9 which is shown on the drawings, mentioned in the specifications, or reasonably implied as 10 necessary to complete the division of work bid for this project.
