• For use on boulevards, sports fields parks and passive green spaces • As and when required • Typical delivery frequency: up to twice weekly o option for overnight delivery as required • Turfgrass to be supplied in small roll (18” x 6’) or 1 square yard individual roll(s) • Turfgrass to be NON-NETTED • Turfgrass must conform to BC Standard for Turfgrass Sod, Section 8: Class 1 (Lawn) • Seed mix to be within these ranges: o 50-75% Bluegrass o 20-30% Ryegrass o 10-20% Fescue ? Detail should be provided for all Offers • Turf disease and/or pest presence will deem the turf as not meeting BCNLA standard • Growing medium to be loamy sand; details should be provided regarding the soil class of the growing site • Turf must be uniform in color and soil class • Turf must be free of pesticides and grass clippings • Turf must be mowed within 48 hours of delivery • Turf must be harvested within 36 hours of delivery • Supplier should be able to supply City of Victoria with small orders (less than 4,000 square feet) for pick-up and/or delivery (Indicate cost structure for delivery service) • Large orders (anything over 4,000 square feet or that City of Victoria staff cannot pick up) shall be delivered on-site no later than 7:30 am on the agreed upon date and location (Indicate cost structure for delivery service) • Transportation of the turf must be done with turf covered by breathable covers or within a closed trailer • Turf supplied to be harvested from location known to supplier and to be free from an Agriculture Canada restrictions for movement outside lower mainland • Orders are placed in square feet – offers should detail their pricing in square feet and state any quantity discount tiers. The term for this service will be for a period from the date of award to May 1, 2025, with the possibility of three, one-year extensions. The City retains the right to tender for major projects (volume larger than 15,000 square feet of turfgrass sod). The City will evaluate offers based on the best value to the City and not necessarily the lowest price. Your price should include all equipment, material, labour, fees etc, be in Canadian funds and be F.O.B. City of Victoria Parks Department, 100 Cook Street freight prepaid.
