The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to familiarize the Bidders with bidding requirements and to answer questions regarding the Bidding Documents. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100% Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid, as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Brooke County Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Brooke County Board of Education. B Contractors shall comply with all applicable national and state codes and regulations listed in the General and Supplemental Conditions. Pursuant to Chapter 21-Article 11 of the "West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act" of 1991, all Contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State, the Contractor's WV License number must be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts and agreements.
