Renovation of a municipal facility in Trenton, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Project Funding: New Jersey Historic Trust Capital Grant Preserve New Jersey Historic Preservation Fund The City of Trenton will notify in writing the Prospective Bidders who have been determined to be Qualified Bidders. The City's governing body will issue construction bid proposal forms, plans and specifications only to Qualified Bidders. Only bids received from Qualified Bidders will be opened. The goal of the project is to repair the plaza and all its elements so that it can once again function as a safe, beautiful and lively civic space. With the main entry portico closed and several of the areas of the plaza barricaded to keep people safe, people no longer gather there, making the building feel closed and abandoned. The current condition of the building's exterior is mainly the result of age, weather and intermediate fixes over the years due to the limitations of the City's budget. The proposed repairs to preserve the historic value and integrity of the building require sensitivity and specialized skills the city does not have in-house. Remove the town and country lighting standards and foundations; Provide new electrical wiring and conduits, including photocells and timers to serve the refurbished/replacement fixtures; and refurbish and install new and existing bronze hanging fixtures for the front portico currently stored in the basement. Replace the missing cast iron urns on the front plinths; Replace missing bronze handrails and balusters with a consideration of an alternate material to deter theft; and refurbish the original ornate bronze light standards for the main entrance and select compatible replacements for other locations. The scope of work consists of a single prime contract for: General conditions; acquisition of all required permits; provision of temporary facilities and controls; selective demolition, masonry, step and drain/pipe repair, and electrical and metal work, according to architectural plans and specifications. The principal activities involved in this project include: 1. Project Supervision and Administration of Historic Preservation Projects 2. Masonry Repair for a Historic Building 3. Step Repair for a Historic Building 4. Repair and Construction of Plaza for a Historic Building 5. Electrical Repair and Installation in a Historic Building 6. Metal Work in a Historic Building
