Crack repair inside of outfall. The Aliso Creek Ocean Outfall discharges highly treated wastewater 1.5 miles off the Orange County coast in accordance with strict state and federal laws. The outfall is a 48-inch diameter reinforced concrete pipe constructed in 1979. In 1992, retaining bands were installed inside the outfall to seal five fractures in the pipe wall. The five seals were replaced in 2003. The purpose of this project is to completely replace the five seals with new seals All seal installation work will occur at night, during low flows through the outfall and during low tides. Work hours for this project are between 11:00 P.M. and 4:00 A.M. See the project specifications for specific requirements and additional information. The last day to ask questions will be no later than 2:00 P.M. on May 12, 2023. All questions should be submitted on planet bids. Scope of Work Bid Item 1: Mobilization, Demobilization, and Cleanup Bid Item No. 1 is a lump sum amount for mobilization/demobilization. Sixty (60) percent of the total for Bid Item No.1 shall be applied to mobilization. Forty (40) percent of the total for Bid Item No. 1 shall be applied to demobilization and cleanup Mobilization shall include: the obtaining of insurance, bonds, and other documents; moving of all equipment onto site; submittal and approval of the complete shop drawing project construction schedule; obtaining and paying for all permits from impacted agencies; contacting and coordinating with Underground Services Alert (USA) and other utility owners; furnishing and erecting temporary construction facilities; making connections to temporary utilities; installing construction signs; and other preconstruction efforts as required for the proper performance and completion of the work.
