Description

Site work for a water / sewer project in San Antonio, Texas. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project will rehabilitate and replace approximately 1,917 LF of 8, 10, and 24-inch gravity sewer main utilizing pipe burst, pipe jacking, and open cut methods. The sewer mains are located at two locations within the City of San Antonio and near railroad tracks. These locations are in COSA public right of way, private property, and Union Pacific Railroad right of way. One site will include a bore under Union Pacific right of way. This project is part of the work required by San Antonios agreement with the U.S. EPA to address sewer infrastructure in need of repair due to condition assessment across the city. Currently scheduled to advertise in summer 2023 and start construction in fall 2023. Estimated overall construction duration is 11 months. What to expect: Site 1 will involve 100LF 42 inch casing to be pipe jacked under UPRR ROW followed by installation of 24 inch carrier pipe, the remainder of the work at this site being open cut Site 2 will involve pipe bursting and open cut Both sites will involve RailPros coordination and settlement monitoring Both sites will involve sewer bypass Cost estimate is $2 Million The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
