As of August 28, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. In general, the work consists of: the installation of Boiler No. 5, purchased under a separate project and contract, and the removal of existing Boiler No. 3. Additional work includes revisions to the existing A-2 Heating and Chiller Plant equipment to supply adequate capacity for electrical, water, steam, condensate, treatment chemicals, natural gas, fuel oil and other items necessary to support the proper plant functions. ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - Removal of building materials identified as asbestos-containing materials (ACM) that will be disturbed by renovation work, including ACM thermal system insulation, ACM spray applied and trowel applied surfaces, cement-asbestos products, ACM flooring and associated ACM flooring mastics and friable miscellaneous ACM. (See General Requirements, HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES for regulatory requirements, materials testing results, and General Prime Contractor's responsibility regarding ACM.) o Boiler Procurement and Delivery by separate contract. Supply and delivery of the 60,000 pph gas/fuel oil fired package boiler and economizer to this Contractor for offloading and installation within plant area shown on plans. o Demolition of existing Boiler No. 2, associated piping, supports and stack as identified on drawings by separate contract. Bid Guarantee in the amount of 10% of the Bid must accompany each bid submitted.
