Replacement of 14-inch sanitary sewer force main serving East Omaha and Carter Lake. The new force main will predominantly be constructed along Avenue H through Carter Lake, Iowa. The lift station services Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Nebraska, along with the industrial and commercial businesses nearby. The project will reroute a new 14-inch force main along Avenue H to minimize impacts to existing businesses and minimize potential conflicts with surrounding utilities. The pipe will consist of predominantly polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with some small sections of ductile iron near railroad tracks. The project shall also consist of construction of new structures, manholes, and limited paving, etc. Anticipated Notice to Proceed date: Monday, August 28, 2023 Requirement for Bid Bond: The surety company issuing the bid bond should be licensed by the State of Nebraska and listed on the current edition of Circular 570 of the United States Department of the Treasury. Acceptable substitutes for a bid bond: a certified check, an official bank check, a cashier's checks drawn on a national bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the state, payable to City of Omaha, or lawful money of the United States, or a United States Government Bond (negotiable). LETTERS OF CREDIT AND COMPANY CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTES FOR A BID BOND AND WOULD BE CAUSE FOR REJECTION OF BID. A copy of the bid bond/acceptable substitute shall be uploaded in the Response Attachments section.
