The Town of Morinville is requesting proposals from qualified, licensed professional engineering Consulting firms to update its 2016 Utility Master Plan (UMP). This update will include the review of the existing utility network within the Town and incorporation of all changes that occurred since the last Utility Master Plan Update in 2016 including upgrades/changes to the system, new developments and new development build-out horizons. The update will also include the review and evaluation of the Towns wastewater collection system and water distribution system to support the Town in developing strategies for managing capital upgrades, land use planning, maintenance and handling future growth. The Towns most recent Utility Master Plan was last updated in 2016. The update was only for water and wastewater collection system which involved updating, verification and review of existing water and wastewater models. Since 2016, the Town has experience massive development as multiple residential and commercial neighborhoods have been developed throughout Morinville. The Town's population has also grown by nearly 6.92 % over the population in 2016. The rapid population growth stresses the need to update the existing Utility Master Plan to respond to development inquiries, resolve service issues with existing network, address servicing needs for future development; and upgrade infrastructure with a long-term plan in mind.
