Description

Site work, paving and new construction of a civil project in Ocoee, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The purpose of the NFSR 67 Sina Branch MP 3.8 Culvert Replacement is to replace the existing corrugated metal pipe with a new single span bridge structure at the crossing of National Forest System Road (NFSR) 67 and Sina Branch stream. The planned bridge is a single lane structure, 18-feet wide, and 42 feet in length. The bridge structure will be a Geosynthetic Reinforced Soil - Integrated Bridge System (GRS-IBS) structure comprised of a pre-cast, pre-stressed concrete beams superstructure with a geosynthetic reinforced soil abutments substructure. The abutment wall facing will be Segmented Reinforced Wall (SRW) blocks. The superstructure beams bed directly on the GRS structure. The project is an Aquatic Organism Passage (AOP) improvement project and includes stream restoration work in the vicinity of the crossing. Activities on the project include, but not limited to, removing the existing culvert; regrading and restoring the stream bed; excavating for the bridge abutments; installing the structural backfill, geotextile layers, and SRW walls for the GRS; installing the prefabricated concrete superstructure; and applying roadway aggregate surfacing and asphalt paving of approaches.
