An automated weather observation system (AWOS) provides continuous and current real-time weather conditions by gathering and disseminating information from strategically located sensors, twenty-four hours a day. This weather information is made available to the aviation community, government agencies, private sector weather outlets, and the public via direct-dial telephone, aviation radio frequency broadcast, and the National Airspace Data Interchange Network (NADIN). This AWOS information is invaluable for flight planning, aviation safety, weather forecasting, and other weather dependent activities and services. . This procurement is for a single vendor who can provide all AWOS services to maintain site compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements associated with the operation of non-federal AWOS including conducting required periodic maintenance, inspections, response to unplanned outages, and providing data dissemination service via NADIN.
