KC Engineering & Land Surveying, P.C. (KC) is seeking a subcontractor to provide drilling and soil testing services to inform geotechnical analyses and designs in NYSDOT's Region 9, under Contract Number D038220, PIN 9067.83.The work will consist of providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, and equipment necessary to drill borings and perform soil testing for one hundred and twenty-nine (129) boreholes with depth ranging from ten (10) feet to hundred (100) feet deep. The geotechnical investigation services are required for KC and New York State of Transportation (NYSDOT) personnel, or their authorized designee, to safely provide this service approximately seven (7) miles of the highway corridor between Hale Eddy and Hancock from approximately RM 17-9308-1030, 5,000 feet west of Hungry Hollow Road, to RM 17-9308-1100, 5,700 feet west of Interchange #87 (Hancock). Work shall be performed as described and in accordance with the NYSDOT Geotechnical Design Manual (GDM) Chapter 4 - 2022. Geotechnical drilling and testing will require the following tasks: Drilling Sample recovery Soil percolation tests Lab testing Install and monitor piezometers. Rock testing MPT Unit rates for each of the above tasks must be provided. Quantities are available in the item table attached. Mobilization by the drilling contractor is required within 48 hours of notification by KC. Contract: The duration of the contract will be from approximately October 1, 2022 until December 31, 2023. The project period that requires Soil boring and testing services is anticipated to start on or about June 5, 2023 and end on or about September 25, 2023 for approximately 90 workdays (Monday to Friday). It is anticipated that all deployments occur during daylight between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. KC is a subcontractor for prime consultant Bergmann under the NYSDOT's Contract No. D038220. All applicable provisions of KC's subcontract apply to the subcontractor. KC reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities, to invite for new bid proposals and to disregard all nonconforming, nonresponsive or conditional bids. Insurance: The insurance requirements shall be in accordance with the specifications in the Bid Documents and shall consist of the following: Policies of Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability Insurance; Policies of Automobile and Truck Insurance; Workmen's Compensation Insurance; All Subcontractor's. Permits - The Subcontractor shall be responsible for procuring all necessary temporary lane closure permits from NYSDOT to perform the work.
