City of Virginia, MN Public Works Garage Heating And Ventilation Upgrades Request for Proposal The City reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all quotes and to accept that quote considered the most advantageous to the City. A pre-bid walk-thru of the facility can arranged for bidders by contacting Kurt Ke sanen, contact information is below. Scope of Work: Mechanical contractor is assumed to be the prime contractor and shall have all necessary subcontractors included in their bid to complete the work described, including all necessary electrical wiring. Contractor is responsible for providing engineered drawings as required for plan review, permitting, and installation. Location: 1901 S 13th Ave W, Virginia, MN 55792 Bid #1 Infra-Red Heating System Replacement o Remove and dispose existing infra-red heating system, burners, tubing, reflectors, controls, vacuum pump, etc. o Provide and install new infra-red heating system with new burners, tubing, reflectors, hangers, controls, vacuum pump, etc. for a complete new system matching the layout and capacity ofthe existing. Roberts Gordon Co Ray Vac or Vantage NP, Detroit Radiant and Reflect-O-Ray are approved products for installation. o Contractor to include all control and power wiring. Wiring to be as per applicable code. Bid #1 Add Alternate: o The current 3 burner system is controlled off 1 thermostat. The City would like an add alternate bid to have individual burner control with 3 thermostats and necessary control panel as required for the 3 burner system to run as 3 zones. Bid #2 C0/N02 Ventilation System o Provide and install a C0/N02 gas monitor system for garage with exhaust fan and makeup air unit. Sized as per MN Mechanical Code. CO/NO2 sensors to be Honeywell E3 with digital display or equivalent. o It is estimated that (2) CO/NO2 sensors will be needed for the maintenance shop, but contractor is responsible for final verification ofthe exact number ofsensors needed for brand ofsensor installed. o Contractor to calibrate the sensors. o Contractor to include all control and power wiring. Wiring to be as per applicable code. o Ventilation is estimated to be 5,250cfm, based on a space of 70ft x 100ft and MN Mechanical Code 404. Final sizing and verification to be by the installing contractor. o Exhaust fans to be wall mount prop style, qty. (2), each sized for 2625 cfm, with OSHA guard, wall sleeve, weather hood, motorized damper, NEMA 1 disconnect, etc. All normal standard accessories. Exhaust fans to be Loren Cook XW or equivalent. o Exhaust fan #1 shall Make-Up Air Unit Replacement o Contractor remove and dispose of existing make-up air unit, heat recovery core, outside air and exhaust ducting. o Cap exhaust ducting at roofline and cap flue piping at roof. o Provide and install new indoor, horizontal, direct fired make-up air unit, 5250 cfm, 2 speed motor, natural gas, 3 way discharge nozzle, intake motorized damper, remote mounted control panel (verify location with owner), all standard options and accessories. Include new outside air ducting from louver to make-up air unit. Provide and install 3 way discharge nozzle for the make-up air unit supply to the space. Makeup air unit to be Rupp, Captive Aire, Flo Aire, Greenheck, or equivalent. o Make-up air unit and (1) exhaust fan to run continuously during occupied hours via a wall mounted 4hr timer switch. If a call from the CO/NO2 sensor, the second exhaust fan shall run and make-up air unit shall go to high speed until alarm condition is satisfied.be on the north wall, exhaust fan #2 shall be on the west wall. Bid #3 C0/N02 Ventilation System o Provide and install a C0/N02 gas monitor system for garage with exhaust fan and intake louver. Sized as per MN Mechanical Code. C0/N02 sensors to be Honeywell E3 with digital display or equivalent. Sensors to have audible and visual alarm. Sensors to be wash bay approved. o It is estimated that (2) CO/NO2 sensors will be needed for the wash bay shop, but contractor is responsible for final verification ofthe exact number ofsensors needed for the brand ofsensor installed. o Contractor to calibrate the sensors. o Contractor to include all control and power wiring. Wiring to be as per applicable code. o Ventilation is estimated to be 4,200cfm, based on a space of 70ft x 80ft and MN Mechanical Code 404. Final sizing and verification to be by the installing contractor. o Exhaust fan to be wall mount prop style, with OSHA guard, wall sleeve, weather hood, motorized damper, NEMA 1 disconnect, etc. All normal standard accessories. Fan to be located on the east wall, verify exact location with owner. Exhaust fan to be Loren Cook XW or equivalent. o Fan to run and damper to open either via a 4hr timer switch or from a call from a CO/NO2 sensor. o Louver and motorized damper to be located on the south wall, verify exact location with owner. Louver and damper are estimated to be 48x48 in size, final sizing is the responsibility ofthe contractor. Louver to be Ruskin ELF375DX or equivalent. Damper to be Ruskin CD60 or equivalent. Louver to come with prime coat finish. o Contractor to provide and install (2) separated combustion natural gas fired unit heaters with stainless steel heat exchanger near the intake damper in the north east corner and in the south west corner. It is estimated that each unit heater to be 250mbh input, final sizing by contractor. Unit heater to be Reznor UDZ or equivalent. Thermostat to be wash bay approved. o Contractor to verify gas capacity of gas meter and existing gas piping. o Existing infra-red heaters stay as is.
