As of May 10, 2023, Johnson County is seeking a consultant for a service, maintenance and supply contract. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) is seeking a qualified consultant to develop a comprehensive “5-Year” Solid Waste Management Plan (Plan) to update and replace the 2019 Plan for Johnson County, Kansas (County). The new Plan must comply with all applicable Kansas solid waste laws, regulations, and guidance. The new Plan must describe in detail the current solid waste management system in the County with an emphasis on changes that have occurred since the adoption of the 2019 Plan by the Solid Waste Management Committee. The consultant will be expected to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the 2019 Plan in achieving the waste reduction and disposal goals laid out in that Plan, and to build on the 2019 Plan by analyzing and recommending new strategies and goals that will allow the County to make further progress in reducing waste and extending the life of existing landfills. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
