Renovation of a mixed-use development in Hemet, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; and library.
The City of Hemet is seeking bids for the Modernization of Elevators located at the Simpson Center, located at 305 E Devonshire Ave, Hemet CA 92543 and at the Hemet Public Library, located at 300 E Latham Ave, Hemet CA 92543. Liquidated Damages $500 per day Online Q&A Yes Q&A Deadline 09/19/2023 3:00 PM (PDT) Simpson Center elevator: Modernization to include: 1. Replace the existing proprietary elevator controller with a new Smartrise microprocessor controller. . New H1 Microprocessor controller . New hoist way leveling package. . New machine room and hoist way electrical conduit, as needed. . New multi-wire car, hoist way and machine room wiring . New solid-state starter . Phase I and II Fire Service and alternate fire floor . Reduce torque closing (door nudging) . New access limit switch in hoist way per code 2. Install new battery lowering unit. In case of power outage, this unit will power the elevator to the main egress landing utilizing a battery backup power supply and open the doors to release any passengers. *note - the installation of a battery powered lowering unit requires the addition of an auxiliary contact to the mainline disconnect in order to override the battery lowering unit when the power is shut off to the elevator at the mainlines. Modifications or upgrades of the mainline disconnect need to be completed by a licensed electrician and included in the full proposal. 3. Remove the old hydraulic oil and dispose of it. 4. Install new Isolation ball valves in the pit and the machine room, along with new rupture valve to meet code. 5. Install new Victaulic fittings and feedline as required to integrate a new submersible tank unit with the existing oil feedline. 6. Install new submersible hydraulic pump unit. To be included: . Maxton valve . Pump motor . Muffler . IMO pump . Rubber Isolation . Feedline as required to integrate new power units 7. Install new hydraulic oil and additive to new tank unit. 8. Install new cylinder head packing seal. 9. Install new steel eq. adapter plates. 10. Install new Elsco Model B adjustable roller guides. 11. Remove the existing hoist way and car door operating equipment and install in its place new solid state G.A.L. door operating equipment. .M.O.V.F.E. HH Harmonic heavy-duty solid-state master power opertor. . Single speed center opening car door track and hanger assemblies with 3 1/4 " metallic rollers. . "ANSI" zone lock car door clutch. . New door closers (1 per floor) . Type MO hatch door interlock along with new pick up assemblies (1 per floor) . Single speed center opening hoist way door track and hanger assemblies with 3 1/4 " metallic rollers. (All floors) 12. Install a new single speed center opening car door finished in #4 brushed stainless steel. 13. Install new single speed center opening hatch doors on all floors. Finish to be #4 brushed stainless steel. 14. Install a new upgraded, state of the art, Janus Panachrome+ infrared detector edge. The Janus Panachrome+ detector edge comes complete with red and green indicators which operate on door movement to visually show opening and closing of the doors. Note: The Panachrome+ detector edge is an innovative solution that combines improved safety, enhanced aesthetics, and reduced maintenance costs via reduced door damage. 15. Car Operating Panel: Replace with new mini-swing style ERM CA100 CBC fixture complete with digital PI, vandal resistant lighted mechanical pushbuttons raised 1/8", Braille tags with threaded studs, passing chime, A.D.A. speakerphone, certificate holder, emergency light unit and engraved signage. Panel will include a service cabinet along with a fire service cabinet to contain Phase II fire recall switch. Panel will include a SmartView emergency communication system for the deaf and hard of hearing in order to allow for compliance with newly adopted CBC code. Cover plate shall be #4 brushed stainless steel. 16. Provide an in-cab voice annunciator which audibly annunciates the floor position of the elevator upon arrival at a floor. 17. Install one (1) new car directional indicator, complete with two (2) stroke gong. Gong to strike once for the up direction and twice for the down, and install in car jamb. Cover plate shall be #4 brushed stainless steel. 18. Jamb Braille: Add adhesive Braille plates to the hoist way jambs at each floor, two per opening. Plates shall be 4" square with 2" raised characters and raised Braille symbols. Finish shall be stainless steel with a black contrasting background. 19. Hall Call Stations: Replace existing with new flush mounted vandal resistant fixtures, (1) at each floor. Fixtures to include LED vandal mechanical pushbuttons. Button model to be CA-100CBC by ERM. Cover plates will be finished in #4 brushed stainless steel. Main egress floor to include fire service key switch and engraved instructions. Terminal floors to be inclusive of new access key switches. All floors to include on/off lockout key switches in order to permit the hall stations to be locked out when desired. 20. Install new car top inspection station. 21. Install new Morrison exhaust fan. 22. Install new code compliant toe guard. 23. Clean and paint pit, car top, and machine room floor. 24. Perform the full load safety test on the hydraulic elevator(s) per the elevator code. Exclusions: 1. All machine room/hoist way electrical, telephone, ethernet, sprinkler, general construction, and fire service compliance to be provided by others. 2. A new disconnect with auxiliary contacts made available will be installed by others if current disconnects do not meet code. 3. Fire service integration to be performed by others as required. 4. All cutting/coring/patching/fireproofing of concrete, stone, glass, millwork, and other finished wall surfaces to be performed by others. 5. Any underground conduit runs to be installed by others 6. Telephone and ethernet lines to be run to the machine room ending in a junction box at each controller are to be installed by others if not existing. 7. Code required pit ladders to be installed by others or at additional cost to our price, if not currently existing. 8. This bid excludes the installation of new electrical conduit between the elevator machine room and hoist way and is based upon the ability to pull the wiring through the existing underground conduit run. If new above ground conduit becomes required, a change order will be provided accordingly for the added scope of work. 9. A secure storage/staging area, close to the elevator equipment room and hoist way, is to be provided to Company for staging of new materials and tools needed to perform this scope of work. 10.
