The City of Rocky Mount is seeking proposals from licensed and qualified utility contractors for the temporary relocation of an existing 8-inch sewer force main to accommodate the replacement of a storm culvert by NCDOT. The vendor awarded the contract shall be responsible for all materials, labor, equipment and shall be fully insured, per City requirements. Question Deadline 06/20/2023 The city of Rocky Mount is requesting a price proposal for temporary relocation of an existing 8-inch sewer force main to accommodate the replacement of a storm culvert by NCDOT. 1. The preferred contractor will be responsible for installation of two hot tap 8" x 6" sleeve and valves onto the existing 8" force main. 2. The preferred contractor will be responsible for installing two 8" isolation valves and restraining caps, for the purpose of allowing removing of the section of 8" force main over the existing storm culvert. 3. The preferred contractor will be responsible for installing a temporary bypass line around the work site and tying back into installed valve on opposing side of construction site. 4. Following the completion of the storm culvert by N.C DOT, the preferred contractor will reinstate the removed section of force main back over the storm culvert. 5. All work will be performed with the charged force main in service, the preferred contractor will assume responsibility for any SSO event as a result of this bypass and construction. The Contractor shall commence work to be performed under this Contract on a date to be specified in written order from the Designer/Owner and shall fully complete all work hereunder within 60 days consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
