i. General Information 1. The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) is the new testing standard for all Regular Army Soldiers and Active National Guard, as of October 2022, and for all other uniformed army service members beginning in April 2023. The ACFT utilizes six events to effectively measure a Soldier’s physical performance over a defined field space, relatively flat and free of debris, and running track. The defined lanes of the ACFT field, 25-meters in length with runout areas on either side, provide the primary area for testing events including the deadlift, the medicine ball power throw, the Sprint-Drag-Carry, the hand release push-up, and the plank. ACFT Fields are constructed in vicinity of an existing track or with the addition of a track if none are present for the final event, the 2-mile run. ii. General Description 1. The project includes the configuration of a 16-lane field with sidewalk and a concrete equipment storage pad for 20-foot standard Connex to house the ACFT testing equipment. The lanes will be installed on a self-draining synthetic turf surface. The right-side lane line of each odd-numbered lane shall have intermediate markings at major intervals of 5-meters and shall be further subdivided into minor increments of 1-meter and 0.1-meters in accordance with drawing sheets provided. The lanes will have 5-meter staging area in the start and 3 meter turn around at the end with 3-meter offset adjacent to lane 1, and 4-meter offset adjacent to the lane nearest to the equipment storage pad. 2. The project is intended to capture standard design requirements and shall be used as the basis of design for design-build or design-bid-build by others. Designer of record shall be responsible for site specific design elements including but not limited to site grading and drainage, geotechnical, structural and foundation design and non-standard site configuration based on available area. Documents are not intended for construction.
