Gaston County encourages the participation of minority and women historically underutilized business enterprises. Gaston County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to award the contract in a manner deemed to be in the best interest of Gaston County. Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit or certified check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC payable to the Gaston County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the gross amount of the proposal. A bidder may offer a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the proposal executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds. The deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in the event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the contract within ten days after the notice of award. Gaston County reserves the unqualified right to reject any or all bids. All bidders must be properly licensed under applicable laws of the State of North Carolina, at the time of bid submittal.
