Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Miami Beach, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The 73rd Street Bridge is located between Dickens avenue and Wayne avenue within the Biscayne Point neighborhood. According to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Bridge Inspection Reports from April 30, 2016, to April 7, 2020, this bridge has consistently received a sufficiency rating of 61. Since the rating is below FDOT recommended minimum threshold of 70, improvements are proposed to bring the bridge into compliance. This project will include enhancements to the bridge's substructure and superstructure. Elements of the bridge affected by the repairs are identified in the plans and specifications found in Appendix G. Some of the main construction activities include concrete repairs (cracks, spalls, etc.), expansion joint replacement, vegetation removal, traffic railing cleaning and recoating, exposed rebar removal, and pile jacket installation.
