Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a stadium in Cambridge, Ontario. Completed plans call for the addition of a 44,539-square-foot, one-story above grade, 450-seat stadium; for the renovation of a stadium; for site work for a stadium; and for the demolition of a stadium.

This Request for Tender (the RFT) is an invitation to Pre-Qualified Suppliers of SQ23-60 - Preston Memorial Auditorium Arena - Demolition and Construction Services by the City of Cambridge (the City) to prospective bidders to submit bids for Cambridge Preston Arena Renovation and Addition as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix D) (the Deliverables). - The renovation and expansion of the existing Cambridge Preston Auditorium, including replacement and expansion of existing ice rink, renovation of existing changerooms and banquet hall, an addition which includes a new entrance lobby, an ice rink and bleachers seating for 450 visitors, changerooms and building service areas; - Demolition and provision of new mechanical and refrigeration systems, ductwork, electrical services and systems; - Hardscaping and landscaping around the building; - Excavation of existing bedrock; and - Grading and underground services. Phase 1 demolition will be completed in January 2024. In the event the demolition work runs past January 2024, the site will be available for the building work to commence in Mid-January 2024. The successful General Contractor can commence with its construction immediately on execution of the construction contract. * As of November 28, 2023: Council has awarded Ball Construction Ltd of Kitchener, ON, with a $29M contract to renovate and expand the Preston Memorial Auditorium. The renovation will include improvements to existing change rooms, ice pad, ice resurfacing room and other amenities and the twinning of the auditorium with the addition of a new NHL size ice pad, seating, change rooms, washrooms and office space. Demolition of the existing Parks Services, Gymnastics and Club/Storage buildings will be completed to accommodate parking and the new addition to the arena. Construction is expected to be completed by fall 2025.
