Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Mattoon, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of July 5,2023 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Parking Lot A located on the northeast end of the main campus of Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL needs replacement. The existing islands and landscaping trees are to be removed. The curb along the north side of the parking lot as well as some of the pavement will be removed and replaced in a new location. The remaining parking lot will be milled. Existing signs, posts, trees, landscaping, storm sewer, and drainage structures are to be removed as well. A new entrance to the parking lot will be created near the NW corner of the existing parking lot with the addition of an east leg at the intersection. The new leg will tie into the north side of the parking lot to create a ring road along the exterior of the lot. Some of the existing islands will not be replaced but rather removed and converted to parking area. The roadway on the east end of Parking Lot A will be widened to improve flow and turning movements. New concrete curbed islands will be constructed, and the interior of the island backfilled with topsoil. The parking lot will be primed and repaved with a new HMA surface course. New storm sewer and drainage structures will be installed throughout the project. Where existing storm sewer conflicts with the proposed work, the existing storm sewer will be removed. In other locations, the existing sewer will be plugged and abandoned in place. The storm sewer trenches will be backfilled with granular backfill within the limits of the parking lot and patched with HMA. Erosion control will be installed to minimize erosion on site. New painted pavement markings will be applied to the new HMA surface for approximately 401 regular stalls and 9 handicap stalls. All disturbed areas will be fertilized, seeded, and mulched including within the new islands and along the north and east sides of the project. New signs are to be installed. There will be a $25.00 non-refundable fee to download. The refundable cost for a hard copy of the plans and project manual will be approx. $120.00 (postage and tax not included). You will have the opportunity to view the documents as many times as you like before deciding to purchase. All official notifications, meeting minutes, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be sent to all Plan Holders through the plan room. Refundable Plan Deposit: In order to receive a refund for hard copies (no refunds for downloaded copies), bidders must order through the plan room at www.upchurchgroupplanroom.com. Bidders then need to send the purchased hard copies of both the plans and project manual, in usable condition, within 45 days of bid opening to: The Upchurch Group, 123 N. 15th St., Mattoon, IL 61938. Maximum hard copies allowed for refund is - three (3) full set of bidding documents (plans and project manual).
