Renovation of a mixed-use development in Biggs, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.

City Of Biggs Per Capita Park Improvements Project The work covered under these specifications and construction plans shall support the construction of the Biggs Per Capita Park Improvements Project. The contractor shall furnish and provide all material and labor to construct all the improvements as specified in these specifications and plans. The project includes installation of a new swing set, concrete mow strip, sidewalk, engineered wood fiber surfacing, and relocation of existing irrigation at Family Park; and installation of new playground equipment and engineered wood fiber surfacing at Rio Bonito Park. Bids are required for the entire work described in the Plans and Specifications. The bidder shall possess a Class A license at the time this contract is awarded and shall be maintained throughout the duration of the project. The successful bidder shall be the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder of the base bid. The successful bidder shall furnish a payment bond and a performance bond consisting of the following amounts; faithful performance (100%) of contract value; labor and materials (100%) of contract value with the contract and a | year maintenance bond at the completion of the project for a minimum of 25% of the total contract amount. The City of Biggs hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement; disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation. Pursuant to Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the general prevailing wage rates in the county, or counties, in which the work is to be done have been determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. These wages are set forth in the General Prevailing Wage Rates for this project, available from the City of Biggs and available from the California Department of Industrial Relations' web site at. Future effective general prevailing wage rates which have been predetermined and are on file with the California Department of Industrial Relations are referenced but not printed in the general prevailing wage rates. No Contractor Or Subcontractor May Be Awarded A Contract For Public Work On A Public Works Project, Unless Registered With The Department Of Industrial Relations Pursuant To Labor Code Section 1725.5. Contractors Must Be A Registered "public Works Contractor" With The Dir At The Time Of Bid. Where The Prime Contract Is Less Than $15,000 For Maintenance Work Or Less Than $25,000 For Construction Alternation, Demolition Or Repair Work, Registration Is Not Required. All contractors/subcontractors and related construction services subject to prevailing wage, including but not limited to: trucking, surveying and inspection work must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations as a "public works contractor". Those who fail to register and maintain their status as a public works contractor shall not be permitted to perform work on the project. The Contractor and each Subcontractor shall keep an accurate record showing the name, address, social security number, work classification, straight time and overtime hours worked each day and week and the actual per diem wages paid to each journeyman, apprentice, worker or other employee by him or her in connection with the work. These payroll records shall be certified and made available for inspection at all reasonable hours at the principal office of the Contractor and furnished by the Contractor to the Owner and others upon request in accordance with the provisions of Labor Code Section 1776. The Contractor's attention is called to the penalties provided for in Section 1776 for the failure to comply with its provisions. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The Contractor shall forfeit as penalty to the Owner, fifty dollars ($50.00) for each calendar day or portion thereof, for each workman paid less than stipulated prevailing rates for any work done by them or by any subcontractor under them, in violation of the provisions of the Labor Code and in particular, Section 1770 to Section 1780 thereof, inclusive.
