The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on July 26, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Office of Programming and Planning Office in Springfield. General services are required to develop Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Comprehensive Safety Action Plans for participating public agencies, including Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO), Regional Planning Councils (RPC), and other determined sub-unit geographies, in accordance with the new program authorized and established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). Action plans will identify and support state and local initiatives to prevent transportation related deaths and serious injuries and improve overall roadway safety. The plan will help strengthen the State and local’s coordinated approach to roadway safety while working towards the initiatives of “Vision Zero” or “Towards Zero Deaths.” This project is task order based. Participating public agencies can be located throughout the state of Illinois and multiple agencies may be covered under a single work order. Project managers from the department and Consultant will coordinate and draft each task order to specify the following: scope of work, study length, staff requirements, task order cost, and final deliverables.
