As of August 29, 2023, this project has awarded to Moody Construction & Sons, Inc amount of $569,722.03. As of June 21 the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established . Gunnison County is expanding the cell at the Gunnison County Landfill. As part of this expansion, the following work will be required: o Extension of geosynthetic liner system in Phase 2, Modules 1 and 2 from approximate elevation 8040 feet to 8070 feet. All questions regarding bid documents should be directed to Michael Pretti at mike.pretti@soudermiller.com and will not be accepted after Wednesday, May 31, 2023. No phone questions will be accepted. All prospective bidders will receive electronic copies of contractor questions with appropriate Gunnison County responses by Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Extension of liner system for Modules 1 and 2 includes: o Location of edge of existing geosynthetics liner system and removal of overlying soil and plywood placed during previous construction to protect edge of liner o Backfilling/removal of the existing interim diversion swale/berm located upslope of existing interim liner termination berm in both Module 1 and Module 2 areas o Placement and compaction of soil to form a low hydraulic conductivity foundation layer for the base of the geosynthetics liner system. The new foundation layer shall be tied into the existing foundation layer. Suitable foundation layer material has been stockpiled onsite by the County. o Installing the GCL and splicing new GCL to the existing GCL o Installing the leachate collection system consisting of a geocomposite drainage layer and splicing new geocomposite to the existing geocomposite o Anchor trench installation and backfilling o Constructing the interim liner termination berm at the edge(s) of portions of the lined area (north edge of Module 1 and west edge of Module 2) o Placing the soil operations layer o Regrade a portion of Module 1 east slope upslope of the liner termination as shown in Project Drawings o Repair of approximate 3-foot by 3-foot area of damaged liner along the north edge of Module 1, including operations layer, granular drainage layer, and GCL. All soils materials necessary for the construction of the Modules 1 and 2 liner extension are expected to be available on-site, from existing stockpiles, from materials excavated and screened during the previous construction of Modules 1 and 2, or from in-place materials.
